Oct. 22: NW UU Justice Summit

Hello fellow justice activists!

Please plan on joining us at the upcoming Northwest UU Justice Summit, (Saturday, October 22), and help us spread the word to our UU colleagues working for justice or looking to get more involved in that work.

There is a move afoot to create a network that connects UU activists in our region, so that we can effectively share our justice passions, learn from each other, create shared resources, and basically do more, more easily and to greater effect.

To launch this idea and develop it further, nearly a dozen UU congregations and organizations have come together to sponsor the first annual NW UU Justice Summit. It will be held all day Saturday, October 22 at Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Church in Edmonds, Washington. Edmonds is just north of Seattle.

The summit program will:

  • explore existing UU justice collaborations,
  • provide opportunities for folks to work with other UUs who share similar justice interests, and
  • will develop tools that we can all use to support our individual and collective justice work.

Details about the Summit and a glimpse of the network’s future can be found on the network’s preliminary website. There is a download section for the summit that includes flyers, newsletter articles, and more; so if you are willing to spread the word, you will certainly have the tools at hand. Of course, if you’d prefer, the organizers will readily send you an email with all of the above as attachments. That might be easier. You have but to ask. Contact the organizers by sending an e-mail to D.D. Hilke, Executive Director, NW UU Justice Network.
