Oct. 30 in Religious Education
This week, Rev. Barbara and Candee Cole, Director of Religious Education, will lead an intergenerational service for kindergarten (age 5) and up for All Soul’s Day. Infants to preschool will hold their regular program. Early drop-off for infants through preschool is offered from 9:45–10:00. We will not be singing out the children this week.
We encourage adults and children alike to wear costumes this Sunday! (Please avoid costumes that are overly gory or include weapons). There will be a part in the service for costumed attendees to scare off the “ill-meaning” spirits. We hope this service will offer a feeling of lightness as well as a chance to remember our loved ones. Children have been intentionally invited to this service; and there will be a child-friendly story, an accessible song, and a place in the service for children/teens to help. If the content is too intense for your child or they need an energy break, they may attend childcare in the preschool/childcare room. Please accompany your child to the childcare room to be sure there is enough space. Children and youth must be with an adult at all times on the church/school grounds. Regular playground duty will be offered from 11:15–11:40 for K–5th grade.
We need child/teen helpers this Sunday! Would you like to have a part in the service? Contact Candee right away at (541) 543-8541.
We also need a childcare assistant this week! Teens age 16 and up or an adult is needed to work with Valerie. Call Candee or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
