The Cross Cultural Book Group of Cedars

Friday, January 23, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

For those who desire to further understanding, awareness and knowledge across and among different ethnic/cultural groups through various forms of literature and other media, in a safe haven for the discussion of differences: ethnic, cultural, economic and racial (and others).

For more information, contact Barbara Golden or Betty Petras.

***Change in Venue:  For our January 23 session, the group will meet in the afternoon at the Cedars Center from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

We will consider the book “Enrique’s Journey” (by Sonia Nazario), then set further dates and topics.

The USA population is rapidly changing, dramatically altering American society. We take as a starting place this quote from Maria Hinojosa, executive producer of a new documentary America By The Numbers: “The new American mainstream—the growing number of Asians, Latinos, African Americans, mixed race, immigrants, women, youth, and LGBT—is influencing elections, culture, commerce, and every facet of contemporary life.”
