The Chalice Lighter Program is funded by
contributions of UU’s of the Pacific Northwest District, and the beauty
of the program is it’s exquisite simplicity: a Chalice Lighter pledges
to contribute at least $10.00 up to three times a year by signing and
returning the commitment form (many contribute more).
Every Chalice Lighter dollar goes to the specified congregation
identified in their “call” for assistance.
A little help makes a big difference.
By their response to each call, 1,000 Chalice Lighters will put at
least $10,000 to work building Unitarian Universalism in the Pacific
Northwest.
Cedars UU Church was a
recipient of a generous Chalice Lighters grant of over $12,000. We encourage you to join
with the others at Cedars who are contributing Chalice Lighters.
In order for our Church to be eligible to "call" for
assistance, only two-thirds of our congregation must be enrolled in the
program. You can sign up to be a Chalice Lighter on the
PNWD's web page.
The chalice we light may be our own!
