Finance
News The Finance Committee is pleased to report that Cedars UU Church ended the 2009-10 fiscal year with a small surplus of $1557. This positive outcome is the result of generous contributions from our members and friends, successful fund-raising at our auction and coffee sales, and careful spending by our committees. Our Capital Fund is conservatively invested in Certificates of Deposit, so we had no loss of principal during the stock market decline.
The 2010-11 budget approved at the June Congregational Meeting maintains funding for our programs and has some modest increases for our employees, but does not include the payment of our national UUA dues or Pacific Northwest District dues. This budget projects that our expenses will exceed our income by about $10,000. This projected deficit presents a financial challenge for our congregation; however, by increasing our income in various ways and spending carefully, we hope that our income will meet our expenses at the end of this fiscal year.
Thank you,
