Music Notes

Cedars is fortunate to have a splendid Music Director in Chris Smellow, an enthusiastic choir, an active Music Committee, and numerous talented musicians to offer special music in our services. 

Choir welcomes new members. All are welcome to add their voice.  Our rehearsals are Wednesday nights at 7:30 pm in the Church Office at 571 Erickson Avenue, Bainbridge Island (Katz Building).  Participation in the choir is a service to the congregation, and can be a profound spiritual practice. 

Music as a centering moment.  Working together with the Worship Committee, we have experimented with having the piano on the main floor of Webster Hall and moving the Prelude into the service itself so that people can center themselves prior to entering into worship. 

Expanded music program.  We are inviting guest musicians to offer special music for a number of services.  We are looking forward to enriching our Sunday services with a vibrant program of music throughout the year.
