A Taste of RE (Open to the Congregation)
Saturday, October 8, 2016
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Ever wondered what the kids are doing once they leave the service? Want to know more about how the Cedars congregation works together to help the next generation of UUs build community while exploring UU principles and their own values together? Ever had a niggling feeling that you might consider teaching if it didn’t sound like you had to be an expert in managing a group of children or personally knowledgeable about all the sources of Unitarian Universalism?
This event is for adults who want to see what religious education at Cedars is all about. Join our Director of Religious Education, Jennifer Conway, along with seasoned RE volunteers; we’ll give you a taste of what this year’s K-4th and 5th-8th grade classes will be doing, so you can experience RE as they do. Current parents, elders, parents of young children who want to look ahead – are welcome, and there’s no requirement to sign up for anything.
Bring your own lunch, learn something new, and if you’re inspired to volunteer to be a part of RE this year, stay for the teacher orientation and classroom management tips session at the end! Childcare will be available if arranged in advance. Please RSVP to Jennifer Conway (email@example.com) or sign up in person at church. We need to know how many are coming so that we can plan dessert!
