Healthy Communities, Strong Communities

Sunday, October 7
10:00 a.m.
The Island School

With Scott James, Guest Speaker, and Penny Brewer, Worship Associate.

Emergency Preparedness: A prepared community is an interconnected set of relationships that you can depend on during immediate crisis and ‘Long Emergency”. These relationships will produce more well-being for you and your loved ones than any amount of supplies you have in storage and have many positive side benefits during non-emergency times as well.

Scott James Bio:  Business Week named Scott as one of America’s Most Promising Social Entrepreneurs, and Forbes Magazine profiled him as a Game Changer. He was awarded a Governor’s Award of Excellence in Service to the state of Washington for his nonprofit community preparedness work. Scott was recently asked by FEMA to present his book, Prepared Neighborhoods, at their national training symposium.
