Emerson as Spiritual Guide—Living Tradition Institute of the West Puget Sound
Saturday, April 28, 9:30 a.m.–3:15 p.m. at The Island School
Ralph Waldo Emerson, the 19th century spiritual writer of unusual depth and power whose ideas are as exhilarating and helpful as ever, is the focus of this 3rd annual workshop (a collaboration of local UU ministers), which will explore the contemporary relevance of spiritual issues and practices described in his essays and lectures. Our primary presenter will be the Rev. Barry Andrews, a recently retired UU minister, now a member of Cedars and author of numerous books, including two on Emerson. The cost of $20 includes drinks and a lunch sandwich bar. Please register online via Brown Paper Tickets by Sunday, April 22 at the latest, so we can send or e-mail you materials to be considered in advance of the event.
