SAC June 28 Summer Food Drive
Sunday, June 28
at TIS before and after the service
School’s out and that means hungry kids at home. Families of local kids who receive free or reduced lunch during the school year now have to make up for those meals on their own. Budgets are asked to stretch beyond what they can handle. That’s where we can help. Next Sunday, the 28th, the Social Action Committee will continue to collect food to stock the shelves of Helpline and Fishline with breakfast, lunch and snack foods for these hungry kids.
Please bring easy to prepare breakfast, lunch and healthy snack items. All foods are helpful, but packaged foods that are single serving or that kids could prepare themselves at home for breakfast and lunch would be great. If you would like to donate perishable type items Helpline and Fishline would be very appreciative of them but need to be delivered directly to them.
Donations will be taken to Fishline in Poulsbo and Helpline House, Bainbridge, where the several hundred families with children will have the opportunity to provide nutritious foods for their kids during the summer months. Thank you for your generosity. The kids will love you for it.
