Music Director Position Open in Kitsap County

Do you love to inspire music in others? Enjoy leading a choir and a congregation in song? Like to help people connect with the sacred through music?

Consider applying for the Music Director position at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Kitsap County, WA, known as Cedars UU Church. 

We are a welcoming congregation that serves primarily Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap County. Our congregation deeply values music for its spiritual nourishment and enrichment.

We are looking for a Music Director who can engage people of all ages in music making and community building rooted in liberal religious values.  

To apply, you should be a competent musician, have a Bachelor’s degree in music or relevant experience; at least two years of experience conducting a choir; and be able to engage musicians with a variety of skill levels. You should be able to plan, perform and lead music both for in-person and virtual church settings and have some proficiency in computers and online technologies, slide show and video production and use of YouTube.  You can find a full job description here

The position is part-time (14 hours per week/12 months per year) and reports directly to our church minister, Rev. Zackrie Vinczen. The salary is $20-$27 per hour, depending on experience. 

It requires work on 40 Sundays/per year. The Church Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings,  in person or on Zoom.
