The Marvin Evans Reading Group will continue with its discussion of Yuval Harari’s fascinating 4-part book, Sapiens, a Brief History of Humankind.

Harari draws on insights from biology, anthropology, paleontology, and economics to explore how history has shaped our societies, the animals and plants around us, and even our personalities. Have we become happier as history has unfolded? Can we ever free our behavior from the legacy of our ancestors? What, if anything, can we do to influence the course of the centuries to come?

Following a spirited initial discussion when we could physically gather at the Cedars Center, and a virtual discussion of the book’s second part, this next virtual gathering will explore the significant themes of the book’s third section: The Unification of Humankind.
