Discussion on Advancing the Human Transition to an Ecological Civilization with Dr. David Korten and Rev. Barry Andrews

Thursday September 9th, @7PM:  Discussion on Advancing the Human Transition to an Ecological Civilization with Dr. David Korten and Rev. Barry Andrews

Please join David and Barry on Thursday September 9th at 7:00 pm as a follow up to the August 22nd service – Toward an Ecological Civilization: From Emergency to Emergence.

We want to continue our discussion of how we might make a difference together as members of a local UU congregation and a global denomination focused on creating a world that works for all.

As you may recall, the August 22nd coffee hour conversation affirmed that though we share a powerful sense of urgency and opportunity, most of us find the magnitude of the task overwhelming relative to our individual capacities. But together we might make an essential difference. We ended the coffee hour noting that there may be a special role for religion and that the UU principles may give us a distinctive role among religions. Several of you wanted to expand the conversation.

Barry will lead the discussion as we together push the boundaries of human thought and action. We will assume that participants in this discussion either attended the online August 22 service, listened to the recording of David’s sermon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFeioPRLpVU), and/or read David’s paper – Ecological Civilization: From Emergency to Emergence.  We look forward to the conversation.
