The Movie Essentials Group meets monthly for social evenings and discussion of a selected movie that participants have viewed previously.
This month the group will discuss Honeyland, a 2019 documentary focusing on a woman utilizing ancient beekeeping traditions to cultivate honey in the mountains of North Macedonia as though our ecological future hinges on the fragile relationship between the hives and herself. When a neighboring family tries to do the same, tension rises as they disregard her wisdom and advice.
The discussion will begin at 7:00, but the Zoom link will be active by 6:45 to allow social interaction before the discussion. The movie is available for rent on Amazon’s Prime Video and elsewhere.
